Installing SmartFoxServer 2X on Windows or OSX

In this quick tutorial, I will set up SmartFoxServer 2X RC1 on a Windows partition as well as on OSX. I will then apply the patch to bring them both up to RC2a.

As you can see the process is pretty much the same for both operating systems. On the windows system, I will install it as a service so it will start up when ever I start Windows. On the OSX side, I will not install it as a service, but will install it to my dropbox so I can have access to it from various different machines that have access to that dropbox. While this is not the most secure way, it is ment as a “portable local” install that I can work on at home, or when I am out with my laptop with out the fear of keeping my two systems in sync.
